For network and cable technicians, “tug and trace” is familiar: one person moves a cable while another waits at the far end to see which one moved. It can work, but it takes time and introduces uncertainty when labels are missing, incomplete or inconsistent.
Cormant DCIM barcode labels connect the physical item in front of a technician to its digital record. Scan a cable, port or asset to identify it quickly and work from the same current information as the rest of the team.
Tug and trace
Physically test a cable and look for its movement at the other end. This may require two people and still depends on correct manual records.
